With all these states reporting increases in case numbers and infections, why hasn’t MN done what some other states like New York are doing requiring people coming in to quarantine for 14 days?

You look at the US map with states that have increasing numbers, they’re closing in on MN. Why are we waiting for more virus spreading from people coming in from out of the state? It makes me cringe knowing people are doing so using 35W, HWY94 and by air.

It’s like we’re waiting for the inevitable.

Don’t tell Walz. He’ll put them in the nursing homes.

Closing down the borders of a country is much easier than closing down the borders to a state here in the US.

The logistics are almost impossible as there is free movement between states.

Walz could issue a travel ban....but like the fireworks laws....it would most likely be ignored.

@warmer - That’s exactly what Minnesota(Twin Cities & suburbs) needs to do. While I agree it couldn’t be fool proof, it’s still something to discourage incoming travel from those states. MN has done a pretty good job thus far, we don’t need people coming here from those states spreading the virus. Especially now with the newest muted strain of the virus that’s MUCH more contagious and just as dangerous.

So, if someone enters the city for business, they can't conduct that business for 14 days without a ridiculously hefty fine? If this is enforced evenly (which I'm sure it won't be), say bye bye to the Chicago economy.

Constitution guarantee free travel between states. What you are proposing would be unconstitutional

They call it the GH strain.

What is going to happen this Fall when Flu season arrives? Will it mutate with that?

From your link:
“ The mutation does not appear to make the virus any more deadly than it already is, but it does appear to make it significantly more contagious.”

This is talking about the strain we have now in the US as opposed to the original strain from Wuhan, not some newer version of it. So it’s already here and, as the article states, it’s not more deadly. If it is more contagious— and so much written by the “experts” on this virus is fear-mongering BS— then we’ll all get it sooner and it will be over.

Relax. This is not a big deal.
