It might help if you'd clarify if the 40 minutes is to one of the downtowns or just into heavily populated areas, if that's during rush hour or no, Cannon Falls is cute but I doubt you'd make it from there to downtown Minnneapolis in 40 minutes in rush hour.

If you're looking to find a place to live first and a job second, you might want to consider what amenities you want to be close to. If you want to drive to the north woods on weekends, living in Rosemount as opposed to Forest Lake would add an probably an hour to your drive each way. If you plan to drive back ti IL a lot, it might make sense to look south or east; the Minneapolis lakes are on the south side of the city, Vallefair (Six Flags makes it look like a kiddie sandbox but it's what we've got) is in Shakopee,

WBL high school is separated because they used to have two high schools, as did a lot of first and second ring suburbs (Roseville, Edina, Hopkins) until the population aged to where it was no longer feasible.

@ocsid

Thanks, but I have already choose to look else where and im researching the other cities the other member's left. I guess having a separate high school has its advantages, but then there are downsides to that matter. But White Bear Lake is off the list, and so far Stillwater is still high on the list. But I am still looking.

Again thanks for the info.

Thanks to everyone-- been awhile since i said anything, Stillwater still looks like an amazing place to live and work

Now I am to the point to see what people think of Stillwater

Is it as good as what people say about it?

If not, whats better?
