The best place to get socks is at Thrifty Outfitters upstairs at Midwest Mountaineering.

$6-$8 for merino wool hiking socks. Although if price is no object, you could just buy them for full price downstairs.

Patagonia on Grand Ave has nice stuff too. They usually have a big 40% off sale in January.

If you want to look like the people on the Netflix documentary series, "Making a Murderer" you should follow the suggestions for Fleet Farm.

I think my wife would be pretty pleased if I looked like Lenny DiCaprio

Maybe I can combine both styles and go for a "trendy farmer" vibe.

C'mon. This winter is a cake walk and they won.t be here until February. This weekend will be wicked but temps are going to be on the upswing. We have about 5 inches of old snow on the ground and none in the forecast for the next ten days. Stop worrying -we r having a mild winter. Welcome!

Better shop soon. Even though winter has really only started just now, they'll be clearing out all the winter gear soon to make way for swimsuits and such. Finding replacements for your lost gloves in late winter can be a real hassle.

I won't be up there before the 26th or so. I'll have to take my chances. Needless to say the selection of warm weather gear here in Florida is pretty slim.

Mail order is an option then.

^This.

Welcome to another (soon to be) ex-Floridian. We moved here from South Florida 18ish months ago and LOVE it.

Costco still has some winter gear available (the Costcos up here, not the ones in FL, obviously)-- but, as cathedralhill mentioned, it'll all be clearanced out in favor of spring/summer gear shortly. We've been happy with their wool socks and gloves-- both in quality and price; and I recently scooped up a lightweight-ish down jacket for my (Canadian and therefore impervious to cold) husband for only $30 that he's very happy with-- and a super heavyweight long down filled coat for myself for $150ish that keeps my weak, Floridian-raised self warm and toasty!

Even his recent look? Though it would be warm for January.
