MPR had a quote last night from somebody at Target saying that they are only opening one new store in MN this year which will be in Inver Grove Heights.

That one is finally going to open. It's still possible it will be Target though. The article said that it will take 7 months or so to renovate the space. Since Bloomies isn't closing until March, that could mean an early 2013 opening. I don't think it will be Target though with several other Targets pretty close to MOA already.

That's why the mall opted to recruit five smaller retailers to occupy the space, including four "fashion-forward" retailers that will be new to the region on levels one and two and a "destination value-priced" store on level three.

Curious what the new "fashion-forward" places might be.
One of the four 'fahsinon forward' retailers is very likely Von Maur since the Star Trib reported that one of the four already has a presence in the Twin cities...

Where did you see that? In the quote I posted the Trib said that all 4 would be new to the region...not that the Trib hasn't contradicted itself before...

I could have swore this article quoted the Star Trib. Guess not. Anyways, I was paraphrasing the the MSP Business Journal article...

MOA hint? Von Maur replaces Bloomingdale's at Atlanta mall - Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal

I can see Von Maur. They have done well in EP. It is very much like Dayton's used to be....I do wish they would bring Dayton's back. I used to go to the St. Paul Dayton's for lunch with my Grandma quite often when I was growing up. They had a fantastic candy counter there too .
