#8 definitely.

I've gotten out of the habit of checking the forecast since it's always wrong any way. In previous states I've lived, rain was more or less an event that you could plan for several hours in advance, but in South Florida you accept that it will rain at any time for any reason without warning.

The rest of these aren't true for me.

Can't prove it but I'm pretty sure that's done on purpose, at least in my experience.

So #14: learning to ignore intentionally combative people that are trying to ruin your day

Yup—doesn’t require a degree in quantum Physics from Stanford either….I either hold my ground and wait for them to move or give a shoulder to someone about to walk right into me or cut me off.

The other thing I’ve noticed—though this is not limited to Miami—are the number of clueless millennial and/or Generation whatever who either came from broken families and/or were raised in the jungle who do not bother to cover their mouth when yawning, coughing or sneezing. Figuring it’s too late or they are too stupid to learn something their parents should have taught them by age 4, I just cough right back at them.

Good list. I lived in south Miami Dade for 43 years. I did not adopt any of the habits that you listed.
