They have set a "target date." I watched the video thinking they would provide a specific date only to hear "second quarter." Does that mean April 1? May 1?

Technically the second quarter could be as late as June 30. A "target date" is a goal more than an actuality so the pessimist in me says be happy if it happens sometime in 2023

Roundtrip Miami-Orando is $158. 3.5 hours each way. Not bad, but not compelling.

Agree, definitely not compelling, especially for a family. Would be cheaper to put everyone in the SUV and have a similar travel time. However, for a business trip not too bad as you get to work comfortably the entire time. I love the BL to West Palm. I think the more compelling leg of BL will be a future route from Tampa to Orlando when that opens in 2 to 3 years.

I expect many riders will be some who would not otherwise make the trip. And many railfans from all over the country. Florida's latest tourist attraction.

The only good thing here is the frequency of the trains and not being at the mercy of freight traffic, at least compared to Amtrak.

I typically fly to/from Miami as opposed to drive. That price is less than a round-trip plane ticket. Assuming less hassle at the station than the usual mess boarding planes, and the comfort and relaxation of a train ride, I'm willing to give it a shot. I'd use Amtrak more often if it were actually dependable and had better stations.
