The thing that's odd with the Brightline route is that it ends at the Orlando Airport. If the connection to SunRail happens, then you would be able to get to downtown Orlando a little more easily.

He should tout the BL for being an amazing privately operated train system as opposed to the federally owned flop Amtrak. I booked my first Orlando trip for November. Love the BL!

Sometime in the near future I'd like to catch a flight to Orlando just to take a BL train to Miami, or Boca Raton or FTL

I took the BL from Miami to West Palm Beach and back over the July 4 period—very nice ride. Stations also nice.

I do that route a lot to see my sister. Going to Orlando in November. Looking forward to that ride!

I was leaning toward not going to a one day conference in Coral Gables (9a-4p) because I don't want to drive and I don't want to book a hotel for a night. This train is perfect. I can catch the 5am train to Miami and the 4:50 or 5:50pm train back to Orlando. Uber from the station to the conference is under $20. Driving would be a deal breaker.

Same!!! So many times I postpone or outright cancel trips to Miami/Ft Lauderdale because I hate the drive, and unless one flies Spirit (yuck) last minute flights can be expensive.

I'm likely taking BL to Miami Thursday, and either coming back Thursday night or Friday.
This is a godsend for us here who have a lot of business across the state.
