Hey everyone. I am considering accepting a job in Aventura and am trying to figure out where to live. School quality, living space, and access to good restaurants are important, in that order.

I think we narrowed it down to Boca, but how bad is that commute? I am having trouble finding consistent data, with some people saying 35 min and others saying 1.5 hours.

If it’s not Boca, any other suggestions?

Thanks

No one can tell you for sure because traffic/accidents vary everyday. I do agree with 35-1.5 hrs time quote

Here's a thought:

Every morning, about the time you would be leaving for work, go on Google Maps and enter the trip from a specific area of Boca to your work address. And do the same for the commute home.

See what the times are for the commute. These are generally accurate. This should give you an idea in real time.

Right now (Monday, 3:15 pm), Google is estimating the travel time from Boca to Aventura is 57 minutes. The reverse is 48 minutes.

Google maps estimates that the travel time from Boca to Aventura at 7 am on general Monday morning is between 35 minutes and 1 hour.

Looks like you could take the Brightline train as an option to driving. https://www.gobrightline.com/aventura

That commute will be unpredictable due to often extreme accidents during rush hours and tie-ups along that route.

I'd pay the extra few dollars every day without exception to use the express lanes. That will cut 50% of the stress and 15-25% of the commute time. That is not a good commute as it is heavily traveled and there are some very nasty unavoidable chokepoints.

Most days you'll do it in 55 mins to an hour imo. As someone else posted, the Brightline train may be a great option if your work is walking distance from the Aventura station.

Why don’t you just live in Aventura?

Kids are 5 and 6. Public school quality is important for us.

The trek from Aventura to I-95 is short, but at rush hour it has horrible traffic, so the closer you are to I-95 the easier it will be. Will you be working east of US-1?

Again, no one can tell you that except plan for 35 mins to 1.5 possibly. No one can predict what idiot/s is going to cause an accident/s that day
