No, but we decided to stay in LV anyway. AA issued a travel alert that allowed passengers to change & rebook their flights without penalty. The only problen we encountered was that we were unable to change it online due to the fact that we were traveling on a "web special" FF ticket, so we had to check out of our hotel earlier today and take a taxi to the airport and change our ticket at the check-in counter. After doing so, we then booked another hotel for the weekend.

So rather than fly home today, we're staying an extra three nights and flying home Monday afternoon after the storm has passed.

This storm is named PTC One, that stands for Potential Tropical Cyclone. This is the first hurricane season I've heard that terminology. Can the weather people hype up tropical storms more than they currently do now? Sheese!!!

They've been using the term since 2017.

Oh wow, thanks for the info!! I have never heard this term before. Now I'll probably hear/see it all the time. lol

Dadeland area still cloudy and grey. Cutler Bay streets have a lot of standing water on them. PTC One () seems to be over. Was the "A" name used?

Not as of the 11AM NHC advisory, though there is still a chance it will be named once it gets out into the open Atlantic.

We didn't get a lot of rain from it here in Charlotte County, looks like they got a lot more in Lee, and especially Collier County. I imagine the Keys were soaked too.

Sounds like Miami-Dade County got a fair amount of rain too, as probably Broward and Palm Beach did ( or will get it).

It's still mostly overcast here too, though once in a while the sun peeks through the clouds. Yesterday, it rained most of the day, not heavy, but ranging from a drizzle to turned up a notch from that.

I was going to check in to see how you were faring with the flooding over there?

A reported foot of rain floods parts of Miami.

<<Streets in downtown Miami, Brickell, Miami Beach and Hollywood are flooding early Saturday as rain from a no-name storm continues to swamp South Florida. And that means cars are swamped. Stalled. Abandoned. Floating. Sinking.>>
