When we rented our home, we rented it to a family where the husband commuted to his job in Doral. When we finally sold our home, it was to an executive who worked at a hospital in Hialeah.
The common feature is that all 3 commutes pretty much took these men to the western half of Miami. I would assume working in construction you might travel all over the county. If so, you may have to account for a longer commute if traveling to the east side.

I would start a brand-new thread in this forum so you attract responses from Miami-Dade County residents. I still visit Weston on business several times a year, and keep up with the city with its weekly newsletter. But as for Miami, it’s been decades since I’ve lived there.
When you start your new thread, give your parameters:
Budget
Housing requirements (ex. 3/2 SFH; or townhouse?)
Probable commute (all over Dade County daily? Northern half? Southern? Eastern part? Western?)
Anticipated time(s) of commute (6am? 7 am? Leaving the job site at 4 pm, 5 pm?)
Mention the importance of good schools (do you need elementary, middle or high school—or all 3?)
This should help you get some good responses. And as with all things South Florida related, the higher your budget, the more choices you will have.
