The third video is fairly old. The others are during the day. Miami is certainly not a dead city. Want to see a dead city check out Washington D.C. on a weekend or at night. Besides for a few tourist spots and two night life districts it is dead.

I agree with the downtown thing though. I find myself in Brickell, the grove, or South Miami more than Miami Beach these days.

I still prefer South Beach because I like to have space to walk around, an actual "strip" to walk, while the Grove and the nightlife part of Brickell are pretty small, confined areas. Although I can definitely see the appeal if you live close by and you're just going to be inside the club or bar.

I don't have to go to any city to see a depressive dead place. I can just stay in Miami for that. Don't be fooled by the sun and the palm trees.

Guess we live in different demensions. I am not saying all of Miami is fantastic and upbeat but it sure does beat the vast majority of cities in North America.

The two videos are mostly residential areas it suppose to be quiet. The grove a Thursday-Saturday night is not dead. It's pretty busy. Same goes for plenty of areas.

Huh???

Which two nightlife districts are you referring to?

Georgetown?
Dupont Circle?
Penn Quarter?
Adams Morgan?
U Street?

What about the vibrant bars, shops and restaurants that line Upper NW in Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, and Friendship Heights? How about the H Street corridor? PA Ave near Capitol Hill?

I've heard DC called many things, but a dead city is not one of them.
