The best thing would be to contact the local news stations. They love getting their hands on news stories like these. Here are some links to the four large local news stations:

WSVN 7NEWS Miami/Ft. Lauderdale News, Weather, Sports, Entertainment Coverage.
CBS Miami
NBC 6 South Florida | NBC 6 South Florida - Local News, Weather, Traffic, Entertainment, Events, Breaking News
Local 10 | Miami News, Fort Lauderdale News, Florida News, Weather | WPLG Local 10

Here are some people you can contact if you are as outraged about this as I am. By all means, if you get a reply with what you feel are extenuating circumstances for the owner, please post,

Alex Munoz (Director of shelter) -- am13@miamidade.gov (305) 884-1101
Kathy Labrada (Enforcement Officer at shelter) -- klabrad@miamidade.gov
Carlos Gimenez (Miami Mayor) -- mayor@miamidade.gov (305) 375-5071
Jose "Pepe" Diaz (Munoz's boss) -- district12@miamidade.gov

This is TERRIBLE! And I am glad the dog was saved and the animal recuse organizations worked. But honestly unless it is an animal enforcement unit you are trying to get working I think the police and courts have a lot more important things to take care of.

I would think this would be an easy case to solve and if it is then go get the moron who did this. But if it is not easy we should all just be happy the dog is now ok.

Unfortunately, Balto did NOT survive. He died despite the rescue and veterinary help.

MDAS KNOWS who let him get this way. The SAME person adopted Balto just 2 months before, from the same shelter! And they will not press charges????

OP-I'm totally not going to look at those pics as I will go out and harm someone. Get ahold of the tv stations. They love stuff like this.

Well that does not make much sense. If they know then just go arrest the guy if they can prove it was abuse.
