A couple of properties we are looking at are near the East tip of the Granada 9 hole golf course near the Miracle Mile in Coral Gables.

We're going to see them next week but I was wondering if anyone can give us an indication of what life would be like there?

First and foremost we wonder if the neighborhood is safe, the home prices seem to indicate exclusivity but it's often hard to tell. Homes on the water on the Keystone Islands go for the same prices and apparently we'd need security guards to leave the neighborhood. Would mrs soulsea be able to walk the few blocks from the house to the Mile safely?

I understand the area is a somewhat of a tourist destination ... does this make traffic coming in and out of it difficult or tolerable?

We're in our late 30s/early 40's ... would the average age group be thereabouts or is it a much older stuffier crowd?

And last, a question that may seem silly to anyone who lives in Miami ... I often wonder if in neighborhoods like CG or the Grove, being inland and full of vegetation, if the summer's heat is more oppressive than somewhere near the beach or on the water, where someone might benefit from a sea breeze?

Any input from anyone familiar with the area would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks.
