I would steer clear from the Palmetto whenever possible. Nothing good comes out of that road!!!

I actually spent the last two weeks staying at the Standard Hotel on Belle Isle and really liked it. I meant that I work off of Doral, not LeJeune. It is on the west side of the airport right on the runway. Even in traffic it never took me more than 20 minutes...I just went down Alton to195 to 112 and then Doral. Piece of cake. Now my concern is finding a condo when they finally approve my relo...they don't seem to come available very often

i considered Doral, but it seems like it is mostly single family homes. I have had a 5000 sq ft house on 2 acres for the last 10 years and I am so over the responsibility of a house. I am only looking at condos. And the little extra commute would be worth it to me if I could see the water every day when I got home. Doral is pretty...industrial

Hi,
Are the venetian Islands mostly condos, or are there homes there too? Good for families with young children??

Doral also has a lot of townhouses and yes I agree Doral is pretty industrial. It is one of the thing that I don't like about the area aside from it's traffic.

"Venetian Islands" Miami Beach neighborhood video (real estate) - YouTube

6 man-made islands. Island hopping at its finest. The word impressive comes to my mind as there is sheer beauty with a prodigious amount of mansions and palm trees that sit on the lovely waters of Biscayne Bay.

It's *expensive* as heck to live there, but is a beautiful place. I often drive to Miami Beach on the weekends, and go cycling from South Beach all the way across the Venetian Cswy to the mainland, to downtown, and back. It's a beautiful run. The whole area is a cyclist's paradise if you're into it.

Sad thing is I can probably afford a small condo on South Beach.. but the commute to FIU every weekday would destroy my sanity quickly.

If you have a Vespa does the venetian causeway charge the $1.75 Sunpass fee?
