I have lived in san diego almost all my life but then i joined the miitary and soon i will be out. I am thinking about moving to Miami but could anybody help me where are a few good places to live in the city? I plan to go to college and have a part time job and its just me myself and I moving to the city. I am a single 24 yo Latino male so i know I will have no problem getting along with people since ive heard Miami has lots of latinos. Is it easy to get a job? how much is rent? and any otyher good helpful tips! California is awsome but its getting quite expensive.

Rent depends where you want to live and your budget, jobs down here are not very easy to get. Have you gotten into a college here already? Where do you want to go to school?

Miami is probably just as expensive as san diego. I'm from there and moved to sd for school and ended up staying because i like it better here.

There is always the weather to consider too. In the winter it is pleasant enough, similar to San Diego. In the summer it is what you dream Hell is like..... if you are religious and believe in Hell. You just have to get used to staying inside..... all the time. Some people get depressed over it.

staying inside during the summer??? people get depressed in the summer in miami? i would say that more likely for a cold state during winter......not here in miami....it definatly gets really hot and humid here in summer, but the beaches are fulll of people and every one enjoys outdoor activities except when its raining......maybe you just have to get use to it if you havent been here for too long. Memo you can PM if you have any specific questions...miami is awsome youll love it here.

I think one gets depressed by having to stay inside. It doesn't really matter if the weather is too cold or too hot. Either way it is unbearable. And we all can't live at the beach although that is too hot as well. For that matter the ocean is often too warm. I don't live in Miami but have spent a lot of time there. I could never get used to the summer there..... I would lose my mind.

You do not live here that is why you can't get used to the summers. The summer Miami has is similar to summers many places across the US have except some of those places have cold winters. Trust me many people get used to it and it cools off in the afternoon after the daily storm.

If I was you I would stay put, Miami is one of the worst places to find a job, and live if your not wealthy. Yes it us very humid in the late spring, and summer with daily thunderstorms. I would stay put, or view other options. If you work part time you wont make any more than a few hundred bucks a week, if you can find a job period, also remember its very expensive here, but the pay is very low. So a bad decision can leave you options like Miami Gardens, North Miami, Liberty City, Hialeah, or Opa Locka. Good Luck

I have lived in Miami many, many years and have never gotten used to the heat and humidity. I think some people can handle it and some people just will never get used to it. Mid May through October I spend as much time as possible indoors. In the evening when it starts to get below 90F the mosquitos come out, so you can't sit outside then. Yes summer in the North can be just as bad, but it is only 3-4 months long. It can be above 80F 10 months out of the year here in Miami. I would love to switch places with the OP, San Diego has some of the best weather in the country.
