The only exception I can think of is if somebody is working at SSA...that would make western part of Baltimore metro (Catonsville, Columbia/EC, etc.) a lot more feasible than Bel Air.
I assumed that as well and why I suggested Howard County (Baltimore Sub-Forum).

Yeah I was going to suggest south of Baltimore as well. I certainly would not like to have to deal with the backup and costs of a commute going through a tunnel. Catonsville? Everyone I know that has lived there likes it.

None there (or anywhere else I'd ever recommend.
Look for the old school LL's who do it themselves.
" Bel Air (pronounced BLAIR)"

Funny, lived in MD most of my life and and NEVER heard that before.

But, then again most of my time was NOT in that area.

It's a Baltimore thing.

Yeah, I worked on municipal issues and emergency planning with a guy who lived his entire life in Bel Air whose family helped found the Town and he didn't pronounce it "Blair".

And I know a lot of people from Balt. who didn't either.

I think it is more of local thing for some.

I've always pronounced it "Bel Air" but I'm not native to the area. I've never heard "Blair" but I've heard something like "B'lair" with the apostrophe representing a slight pause.

I indeed have heard the Road pronounced "BLAIR ROAD" (U.S. Route 1) but the town by itself as "Bel Air".
