I o the other hand have different e-mail addresses for different projects. When I register a new device or appliance for its warranty it gets an email address. This has the added advantage that when I get junk email I can often figure how they got my email address.

And HIPAA isn't as solid as some folks believe. I had a major hospital in the Mid Atlantic region use an email address that I had only used to get online with a specialist clinic for treatment be used to send me requests for donations to their Foundation. It turns out that the Internet portal that you need to sign up for to contact the clinic, get test results, etc isn't covered by HIPAA until you get into the clinic. So the email address that you use to register is available for whatever use the larger hospital corporate entity wants to use it for. (It is, of course, explained in the fine print that you had to check off when you signed up)
To add on to how to avoid unsolicited contact, I use a google voice # attached to my cell phone. I usually give out the google voice # and i can block calls or decide to only get email notifications of missed calls or text transcription of voice messages. I've eliminated my home phone and google voice is free.

This came in handy with St. Jude. I donated once and they are relentless with calling and sending me things, even after i told them not too.

Agreed, and having worked for years as a network manager and having to be aware of privacy concerns and then working at as a part time Pharmacy Technician I thought I knew the requirements fairly well so when that happened to me I didn't accept the first few levels of response I got when I questioned their use of my email for fundraising (My Doctor seemed more upset than I was when I told her and took it to her departments ethics committee). there was about 3 weeks of back and forth before I got an answer that I would accept (even if I didn't like it) about where the boundary was. I wonder if on my next visit to the web site there was a new 'agreement' that had to be checked was because of our 'discussion'?

I remember our company lawyer at a software company I worked for once explained that the reason legal documents are so long and have so many seemingly stupid clauses is that at some point someone took someone to court over a detail and everyone included that in all future documents 'just in case'. My discussion probably added at least two paragraphs to every network access agreement you have to check off (and maybe four paragraphs on ones dealing with HIPAA)

Eh, for some things we may need vaxx cards. It is hard to argue against the right of a private business that chooses to require proof of vaxx.

Especially out of state. I mean most of us travel right? We can't control other states or countries. If we need Vaxx Records, that's fine. It's just like needing a passport. If you're not vaccinated, they may just require that you wear a mask. I dunno.

I feel like we're in one of those virus a sci-fi movies. I'm waiting for someone to start turning into an alien.

I needed mine tonight. Toby's Dinner Theater in Columbia requires proof of vaccination or a recent test. I'll admit that it makes me more comfortable considering I am going to be sitting with this group of people for several hours and we will have masks off while we are eating.

I am grateful that NYC is protesting against the vaxxed cards.
Going to travel to New Jersey and drive there, no I don’t need a dumb vaxxed card.

Conservatives show their colors during a crisis, there should be no doubt about that. This isn't Nazi Germany, this is about saving lives. Lives that are being lost needlessly every day in this country.

I'm all for this new system, I'm also all for events showing proof of a vax or negative test. It saves lives people, it's no more an infringement on your life as seat belt and drunk driving laws are.
