We've been here in midcoast Maine for a little over a month now. After the initial culture shock, we really love it here! (Although we lived in small Wisconsin towns for many years, we had gotten so used to the suburban environment of Raleigh, that moving back to a small town was harder than expected. Now we're so happy to be out of the rat race!) Most people that we've met have been incredibly nice and welcoming. The scenery is just gorgeous. Every meal we've eaten out has been delicious. Kids are enjoying their new schools (Especially our 3rd grader. She already has a ton of friends. It's so much easier to move at her age!) The schools here are wonderful. The teachers have been so great in helping our kids adjust. We're so glad we made this move! No regrets! Maine is home!

Glad you're adjusting well. It's nice when a move works out for the best. Sorry about the weather lately.

Hi lovemaine! It's great to read that your family is settling in so well. Congratulations on a successful move to Maine!

Two years until I move to our Maine home. I look forward to leaving the "culture" of DC/northern Virginia Beltway.

We're in the Camden/ Rockport area. Right now we're renting short-term, but we've started house hunting...

Great ! I'll be moving to the Caribou/P.I. area hopefully by the end of July. I was hoping to be there sooner, my wifes been up there since last Labor Day, but with the housing market as it is I've been stuck here in KC. She loves it up there and I know I will when I finally get there. I grew up in the Central NY area so I miss the change of seasons and the beauty New England has to offer My wife grew up in the St Louis area so it's a new experiance for her.
