I think some are confused/ignorant of the facts/truth and not keeping up with the current situation. Reread the title of the thread. There is a similar thread in the Portland, Maine subforum. This isn't about the race or skin color of the non citizens. It is about the tax dollars paid by U.S. citizens funding no rent apartments and more for families who are non citizens. There are U.S. citizens (including veterans) who are homeless.

For about ten years, Maine has had a couple of cities designated as relocation centers for immigrants.

One of our posters was on a school board and posted saying that school district must now have translators / ESL teachers for 23 different languages.

I thought all that money has dried up? How are single (supposedly able bodied) people still able to collect from the state like that?

The flow of Federal money into this pot may have dwindled, but it takes a while for the pot to run empty.

Then they turn to the city to beg for relief from the city's 'General assistance' fund. Citys have been getting a lot of funding from the state earmarked for EV charging stations [our nearest city has already installed eight of them]. But they freely divert that money to any other purpose.

Sad.
