Using data over a year old and admitting this was a severe undercount, Newsday nevertheless runs this headline today:
Long Island home to almost 112,000 immigrants living illegally in U.S.
I guess this awkward phrasing (“immigrants living illegally”) is libspeak for what normal people refer to as illegal immigrants or illegal aliens.
In any case, this current number is sure be MUCH higher as Newsday continually admits in the article:
Long Island was home to an estimated 111,900 immigrants living in the United States illegally in 2022, an increase of nearly 20% from a year earlier, when the same population was 95,600, according to a new tally from census data.
The increase comes as more than 174,000 foreign migrants — most having crossed the southwest U.S. border from Mexico and then come north — have been processed through neighboring New York City’s homeless intake system since spring 2022.
But the tally, by the Center for Migration Studies of New York, captures only part of that influx...
The estimates in that article are a joke. That clown says the population is estimated to be 10.5 million nationwide which is insane on its face given the amount that enter PER YEAR illegally. The media has been using that false 10-12 million estimate number (which never seems to grow) for decades now. In reality the population now easily tops 20 million and that’s probably a low ball. Also note the group that did this “study” is an immigrant activist group.
That doesn't give them the right to steal. They have no business being in this country.

With no other options? How about the option to not illegally enter another country? That’s a good option. I think 99.999999% of us here chose that option. None of these people should be here. Less than 5% would qualify as asylum seekers. Their poor crappy country and living conditions they lived in are not reason to come here any other way than through our legal immigration system.

NYC is giving them housing and 1k a month for food. Why do they steal except for the fact that this is who they are. Venezuela and the other countries just emptied their bowels on us. Just like under Carter when Cuba emptied their prisons and mental asylums on us.

Yep it’s also a ridiculous comparison as in the mid 1800’s there was literally no strained and broke welfare state like there is today, back then you either worked or died. Today you get a debit card that refills every 28 days and a free hotel room.
Also correct that the vast majority of them are economic migrants and will not qualify for asylum. They typically don’t show up for court and get ordered removed and just continue to live here illegally. Some did get granted temporary protective status from VZ but they ended that in July and any new arrival won’t qualify.

The options comment is regards to them here with NO job or take quick pay as a criminal. If you were left with nothing to lose, do you choose to lay down and die, or steal and fight?

They dont want hope. A good percentage of the young men from central and south america coming over alone are gang members. God knows what the single guys from the Mid East are. I.imagine we will be finding out soon what sleeper cell they are in.
