Not when 40 percent goes to the vendor.

According to Newsday, 60 percent of the fines collected from speed violations will be funneled into work zone safety projects. The other 40 percent will go to the vendor, Verra Mobility.

Meanwhile school zone cameras “The Automated Work Zone Speed Monitoring Program comes several years after Nassau County axed speed cameras in school zones because drivers were being fined when classes were not in session, the Long Island Press noted. “

Nys make work zones 24/7. I was on the lie Sunday and I pulled up to the new traffic pattern split near Melville with the bridge work and I almost got rear ended. The lines were solid and cut into the hov lane. No one knew what to do. That’s more dangerous than me maintaining my 55 mph in a 45 mph work zone with zero workers present it seems.

Ironically there was 3 cops and a major accident earlier in n the day when I passed going the opposite direction to my destination. Driving back and going through it I understand. It’s right in front of the Ferrari of long island dealership. This is on a Sunday with minimal traffic.

When I was in college I got ticketed at 11 pm on a Saturday night. I'm sure the cop was hoping for DWI arrest.

I was doing an internship in the state Senate and worked for a guy who was a cop in a small town upstate on the weekends - he told me what to write on the ticket to get out of it.

It wasn’t always this way in NYC it change on August 1, 2022. I see nothing wrong with school zone speed cameras on school days during school hours.

I know. I got a speed ticket in Flushing last year about a week after this was implemented. Driving home from a Mets game at 11:30pm on Saturday Night on 25A. My argument was how would I know this if I lived in Nassau. It doesn't matter. Apparently, it was posted somewhere.
