Out of curiosity -- has Sands looked for tax incentives? Biotech would be ideal, but what biotech firm wants to gamble on paying taxes out the wazoo in NYS?
I don't see that they asked for tax incentives but this gives them control of the 70 acres for 99 years. They are paying large amounts of funding to the TOH and Nassau.

The problem was that Wang did not grease the right palms. Sands did.
Sometimes success comes down to gifts developers may offer to get their proposal accepted. All potential developers may have tempted officials with Ferragamo or Prada shoes, but I hear that sometimes casino developers tend to become childish and spiteful in the face of possible rejection, and joke they'll give shoes made of cement if they don't get their way.
Will our taxes go down due to this development ? No? Got it.
So a few degenerate gamblers, boozing, drunk driving and out of towners coming to where they don’t belong.
I don’t see this casino lasting too long. It will die off soon enough. People don’t have disposable cash no more. Inflation is here and it will stay here for a long time.

Only Uniondale would see a tax benefit if there is one (there never is)

Take a ride to Jakes 58 over the weekend and you’ll change your mind real quick. The parking lot can not even handle the cars. They are parked on all the side streets. It’s raked in 250 million a month at the top months! So people def have $ to burn out here.

Restaurants are packed. Took my kid to mini golf 2 hour wait. Plenty of $$ here, if this casino is built it will be high end and most likely will end up being in the top 3 most profitable casinos in the country. I’m here for it I hop it happens as it will be hilarious. No islanders lighthouse yes casino!

For now, but that can change very quick if the economy goes south. I remember how empty Vegas was after 2008.

Pretty sure the revenue from that casino is almost entirely funding the operations of the Village of Islandia at this point
