Hi all,

I just got a quote from romanelli to replace my 275 gallon oil tank in my basement. They quoted me $2,400. Is this high? Or reasonable? This is all new to me. Thanks

I can't say for you but is it double walled? That will add cost.

I had mine replaced here in SoMD last year for $1700. But, it's outside so I imagine yours being inside will add cost. It was lifted into place by a small crane. It's a single wall tank. Your price may be in the ball park for the area. My price also included the disposal of the tank.

Replaced 275 tank in basement for $1900. Century Utilities out of Islip. 631-277-2244
Obviously the type of tank you purchase will change price, I replaced a 40 year old steel tank with another steel tank. I'll be dead before it needs replacing again.

Thanks. I just contacted them to get more information. I contacted romanelli first because they have my burner maintenance and oil contract...I honestly wasn't sure if that was a good price or not. They have a deal going till the end of the month with Wells Fargo where they are offering 0% interest for 5 years.

If you can get tank out yourself you can buy a new one at Home Depot for $600 bucks.

My husband had ours emptied, he removed our old one with friends, and he bought one at HD for around $650? We paid for the connection. We were at half your expense. But you do have to be willing to do some work.

Ended up going with romanelli. $2,075 for draining and removing old tank, install new 275 gallon tank with new line, valves, gauge, etc....installers were great. Very happy

Yeah, that's more in line with what it should cost. Did they end up just lowering their price, or did they not do something originally quoted?
