How would you rate a $150k salary for a 40yo office guy who works a 40 hours week with IBEW union health benefits???

When first hit with $150k a lot of people are like wow bit I don't thinks it's extremely good salary. Yes good for sure.

It's better than my ~$40k office guy salary...you almost make 4x than what I make. What's your occupation?

But I have no family and live at home rent-free so I manage to live comfortably

That would put your income in the top 9% of households nationwide and top 13% in the NY metro area according to http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2...rcent-map.html. What don't you like about it?

Keep in mind that his wife [if he has one] may also work so their household income would be even higher. I wonder if she's another one making $100k+ who thinks it's not enough.

Don't make that.....have an offer. Would have to commute 1-1/2 door to door each way(nyc) although current commute is 1 hour door to door now. Electrical estimator position. Wife makes 40k. We have no kids.

An electrical estimator is considered an office job?

If you think the salary is too low, you should also factor in the benefits. I'm not familiar with the IBEW but good insurance coverage could cost over $10,000 annually and, if the union offers a pension, that could add 10s of thousands to your income after you retire.
