Im seriously thinking of this, does anyone think to form a group to research livable places away from the eastern seaboard and overseas?

Ive travelled a bit and I know there are happier people elsewhere.

It doesen't take a group, and most places in this world are livable.

My latest sentiment is "If you don't own a boat, why are you living on an Island".
Most everyone else will/could have a better life somewhere else.

Being that LI is the top 1.9% cost of living in the US you have a 98.1% chance to find some where that isn't as expensive.

This is not new: for example, I've been told that about 180 years ago, or so, a wagon train left Huntington, New York for, what became, Huntington, Mississsippi.

Pretty much. But then we've now lost 22% by last count of our 18-20 crowd so I guess the lawmakers and school boards are getting what they want.

What do you mean they are "getting what they want"?

If I didn't have to be here (my husband loves his job) I would move and go to PA, set up a small legal practice in town and that would be it.

I just don't understand what you mean by the lawmakers and school districts..
