My brother is going away to college in Columbus, Ohio. I'm looking to move to Kentucky kinda close to the Ohio border. That way I'm not too far from him. I come from a small South Jersey town and would prefer another small town in Kentucky. My mom lived at Fort Knox. I want to road trip out there this summer to look around at some towns, but I need some suggestions of where to look. I'm 20yrs old. I'm not really a city girl. I want a place that is safe, mostly quiet, and close to Ohio. Please, any suggestions would help me.

How small is small? And what would you consider close to the Ohio border? Will you want to rent an apartment or a house? And will you need to find a job in a specific field? That would give an idea of where to suggest visiting during your visit.
