I wanted to get a good idea of what kind of people are moving there since it's been growing so fast.

Bulk of growth in BG are either people from adjacent areas of rural western / south central KY or international immigrants. There are thousands of refugees settled in BG from Congo, Burma, etc. In the future BG may become more of a destination for out of state residents of the US as Nashville is unable to build enough housing for the insane growth there.

There are also a lot of people in the Rust Belt with KY roots. It's common for grandchildren of people who left KY for IL / IN / MI / OH to attend college in KY and some even up staying in Lexington or Bowling Green.

If you count "foreign" plates bet most are from Middle Tn. A short drive from Nashville. Look for Davidson on the plate. Since the county is in bold letters should be easy to spot.

Any of the Nashville suburban counties are very likely to be those of students at WKU. At one time, the university offered in-state to those counties.

I think lots from Tennessee.

So close to Tennessee...my Uncle used to live in Bowling Green and commute to Nashville for work.
He worked at an airplane factory there.

Where I live the predominant out of state plates are from Ohio. I almost never see plates from TN.

How do they tolerate the cold weather though in KY when you're from a tropical climate? Just like those Somalians moving to MN.

We get a lot of different plates here being near Fort Knox. However, in L’ville you unsurprisingly see tons of Indiana plates and next followed by Ohio ones. I imagine in far Western KY you would see lots of Missouri, Tennessee, and Illinois ones.

When I first moved here, I found myself walking around the mall and stopped for a cinnabon, and a very nice man was working there part time, as he and his family had just moved up from TN, and he told me many people were moving from there to BG...which surprised me...I didn't ask him why but the growth stands to reason....I hate driving into Nashville as the traffic is horrendous....and I know several people that drive it every day....

I see a lot of out of state plates, but wonder if they are simply visiting, however, the town is one of the 3rd fastest growning towns in the state....so?
