Here is KY Dept of Transportation's email. Ask them why they can afford a $600 million dollar palace for their headquarters but can't afford $10 million for cable barriers from Shepherdsville to Mammoth Cave

Hmmmm...I wouldn't call S. Carolina "progressive" in terms of being part of modern culture and our economy, it is still lagging way behind N. Carolina. That said, both states are more "progressive" than Kentucky.

Also, if we're going to use "progressive" to, in part, measure the quality of our highways then goodness...Kentucky doesn't even have lighting along long stretches of urban and suburban interstate!!! I think Mark Twain is right, for better or worse.

West Virginia is starting to install them, too. A couple of months ago, I noticed median barriers on long stretches of I-64 between Huntington and Charleston. This would seem to be an easy decision for the state government to make...relatively inexpensive yet very worthwhile.

They have been installed along a stretch of New Circle Rd in Lexington as well.

I don't understand why people from E-town to Bowling Green aren't demanding cable median barriers in that area.

KY can apparently afford $50 million to study a road (I-66) which will never be built, but we can't afford median barriers.

Since median barriers were installed in Louisville, they have already saved an estimated 20 lives in 2 years

We are demanding the barriers, but a few voices lack the strength of thousands of voices. That was my mother and sister. Add to our voices and join the fight. Join us on Barriers Now - Powered by vBulletin help us let them know that we want barriers before any more lives are lost.
