I read somewhere a while ago that I-66 was going to be continued through Kentucky and then cross into Missouri on a new bridge that was to be built across the Mississippi River just south of Wickliffe. Can anyone tell me if construction has begun on this bridge?

I-66 will NEVER happen.

US Rep. Hal Rogers is the chair of one the big committees and keeps the pork flowing to this awful project which runs through his district

I agree with census. I read in the Louisville Courier-Journal about a month ago that it seems like the only one wanting I-66 crossing Kentucky is Rep. Rogers. True they have built up U.S. 60 west of Paducah.

Right now the big push is the I-69 project that will run from Texas to Michigan. The problem is they aint pushing very hard! The Purchase Parkway from Fulton to I-24, to the Western Kentucky Parkway, to the Pennyrile Parkway to Henderson is where I-69 will be. Getting money is the hard part.

Darn, I wish I-66 was getting built. I never thought it was fair that Missouri and Kentucky didnt have a direct connection, instead of having to go through Cairo, ILL.

There is a crossing on Columbus ( Hwy 80 bridge) and Hickman (ferry SR 1384 to SR A) from KY to MO.

There are interstates going everywhere in West Virginia. How's their economy?

Davart, the Columbus ferry doesn't run any more. Don't think it has for several years. I was trying to check on it online. Couldn't find it but found a site for the Dorena, Mo-Hickman, Ky. Ferry. It says it's the only operating ferry running on the Mississippi between Kentuck and Missouri. This one charges though!
