Amazing isn't it? I worked hard to get multiple degrees in engineering and science related fields to be able to achieve my career goals. Otherwise, I would be treading water most of my life in mediocre jobs, not that there is anything wrong with that, but my family has always valued education.

They also have a strange definition of what facts are. They seem to think that if any MSM outlet says its true then it's automatically factual(unless it's Fox News of course). I mean, why would the media lie to them? It's not as if Rachel Maddow or Anderson Cooper are liberals with an agenda, right?

Don't be surprised if an educated person tells me I'm ignorant for using Breitbart as a source. Breitbart is "fake news" according to the MSM

I understand that many careers require a college degree of some sort.

But when it comes strictly to learning things, I'm genuinely curious......is there anything that you can ONLY learn from college, and not learn by simply having access to the internet nowadays?

Like do colleges have secret vaults in their buildings that contain some sort of sacred or forbidden knowledge (like in a Lovecraft story) that you can only learn if you pay a lot of money just to attend their institutions?

There is definitely a correlation for the counties of Iowa between the proportion of college educated adults and their vote in 2016. The major urban counties and academic hubs voted blue - Polk, Scott, Linn, Johnson, Story and Black Hawk. These counties have far more college graduates than the dozens of rural counties elsewhere. Iowa's political and educational divide is not unique at all, but it has has a much lower share of residents in the sizable metro areas than most states do so they align better overall with the Republicans today.

I fail to see how a college degree can be considered to be a upper middle class "privilege" especially given the fact that many fields of study such as medicine, architecture, and engineering are quite demanding (if you were just referring to liberal arts courses on the other hand then I would agree).

Truly educated people have had quite enough of the dems devotion to the crazies and the bottom feeders.
One wonders if people coming out of universities today are educated or merely indoctrinated--especially those with social science & humanities degrees.

Even liberal academics are speaking out about how a near complete lack of political diversity has allowed far left tyrants to take over:

Anyone who posts Breitbart is posting insane right-wing fakenews.

If you think that disagreement with Trump means someone is "liberal", you're almost certainly a crazed Trump cultist.

You really think that 90% of the planet is "liberal"? All living Republican Presidents and all the mainstream establishment Republicans are "liberal"? 70% of the U.S. is liberal"? LOL.
