I've heard great things about the city and my sister and I (two conservative, Christian women) are looking for a new home.

From your heart...what's it like?

Thanks!!

I don't live there anymore, but visit often. From my heart.......I'd say it is perfectly fine.

We moved here last October & we like it. (DH, me, no kids.) It's one of the larger cities in Indiana & has the amenities you'd expect, shopping, etc. but it's easy to get around. Lots of things going on, things to do.

I think of Evansville as a pretty conservative city, so it may be to your liking. It has a particularly strong Catholic culture, in the nearby rural areas as well - heavy German and French Catholic roots.

Unless you want to get to the west side, or use any given street on any given day. (it has improved a lot though)

If you have bad allergies or asthma avoid Evansville and the entire Ohio Valley like the plague.

It's a pretty well known fact if you do research.

Amen. I know this is an old thread, but that was the sole reason we moved out of Evansville 20 years ago. There was only one board-certified allergist in town, who treated my wife for 5 yrs. At the end, she gave up and suggested we move someplace north, which we did.
