Actually, I'd like to know where the $$$ goes, as an extensive online search yields almost no information.

No surprise there, as it seemingly is a black hole of bloated pension debt; only 25% of this revenue trickles down from Springfield.

Sales tax revenues are usually going to go to the taxing bodies' general fund.

How comforting.
Please forgive my sarcasm, and enjoy your holidays.

You will need to look at how the sales tax is split then go look at the adopted budgets for those entities. There will be a breakdown of general fund revenues and a breakdown of expenditures. Sales tax won't go to a specific budget line item, though, it's jut part of the general fund pot.

If I change the shipping address to Maine, it's $7; Oregon is no tax.
What are we paying for here, bloated pensions and Michael Madigan's trial expenses?.
It certainly isn't going to state roads, which ALL need resurfacing in my area.
This state is a joke.
To be fair, our roads are better than neighboring states. At least we have proper traffic signals. When I go to neighboring states it's just a yellow chunk of metal swinging around in the wind, hanging from a cable running diagonally across the intersection, when you get to the crosswalk it's up so high in your field of view you can hardly even see the thing. But, yes I agree about the pensions. Get rid of the pension system and put them all on Social Security like everyone else. I knew about all these teachers retiring at 55 getting two or three times what social security pays back in the nineties. Don't know if it's the same now, but this is ridiculous, make them work until 65 or 67 like everyone else.
