Crime in liberal Toronto, Montreal, Stockholm Oslo Copenhagen is a fraction of any republican city. It's not even close.

Right now, there isn't enough room to hold all these people. So I guess what this Act is trying to do, is reserve spots for criminals the judge feels are the most dangerous to the public. The rest are let go to await trial.

There simply isn't space to hold all the people awaiting trial who can't make bail. So rather than make this a financially driven weeding out, it's based on the judge's discretion to pick who doesn't get to be let out.

What this means to me, is that we better be voting for the right judges.

Or build more jails.

Or both.
Illinios has more prisoners than all of Canada, combined. Freedom. Yeah.

It is what it is. Our country has a lot of criminals. There are several reasons why.

What's the alternative? I'm all ears.

I suspect it is not just a matter of more criminals, but also the breadth of crimes that lead to criminal prosecution is probably wider in the U.S. I'd also posit that the sentences are probably harsher and longer as well than in other western countries.

Oklahoma City population 680,000 had over 90 homicides in 2021

Both these cities Have Republican Mayors and higher homicides and they are much smaller than Toronto.

I understand that the new Monopoly games changed the little cards to read 'Do not go to Jail. Go directly to Go and collect $200."

BTW- the 20 most crime ladened cities in the US are all run by Democrats...Miami is the only large city that comes to mind that is led by a GOP mayor, and their crime rate is half of the top 20's.

Facts sure can ruin a good discussion.
