Since these are happening so frequently, I thought it would be worth posting a thread. What do you think? Can we finally bring Madigan down and have a chance to save Illinois?

I highly suspect something is about to go down. While Madigan is admittedly such a disgusting scoundrel of a politician that he might as well be a cartoon character, to this point he has at least been smart enough to not leave a big enough paper trail to face charges.

However, it's abundantly clear the Feds have something to go on and are trying to secure enough damning evidence to get a warrant for his arrest. Or perhaps scare one of his former cronies into giving him up in exchange for leniency or immunity from prosecution. Whatever the case, if I was him I would be sweating bullets right now. The US Attorney for Northern Illinois John Lausch has made it pretty clear that he will deal quite harshly with corruption cases and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

Imagine the image plastered on the front page of the Trib of the Feds slapping the cuffs on Madigan and hauling him away. While having politicians in this state getting arrested is certainly nothing new, he is just a megalomaniac to such a degree that seeing him go to prison would be highly satisfying to behold.

Madigan is like R M Daley, Tony Soprano, etc he plays it smart and always stays in the shadows and has his lackeys do the dirty work and fall on their sword when caught. The only way we are rid of him is when he probably dies of old age.

I mean, have you ever actually met anyone in person who publicly admits that they support Madigan? In 4 and a half years I never have. It’s like The search for Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster.

Less than 25,000 voters have kept him in office, mainly janitors and baggage handlers working Midway airport; unionized of course.

I have met a lot of people who say, when you mention Madigan, "who"? Explains a lot.
