Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! I'm an orangeman. My anscestors were not, but my family eventually converted to good ole Protestantism over the generations. My wife, on the other hand, is a true green Catholic and her family is fresh off the boat to be sure!

Her grandmother is 92 and was the second person(her older sister was the first) to be born in America. Since you are an Irish lass, I guess I can share a few things about myself.

My wife's name is Erin...lol. My name is Timothy Patrick Lynch....another lol

And We have two daughters, aged 10 and 3.5 months. And the drama is never ending....................

I'm protestant too...first generation on one side, second on the other. The family was always trying to convert us away form "heathenism".
I've always thought the religious differences were a smokescreen from the true issues though brought on by the Brits.
My little sister's name is Erin and I'm an O'Connell from Cahirciveen, County Kerry. AND...my oldest daughter was an Irish step dancer and she's a redhead too. Drama city!

I know my family came from Gallway back in the 1700's. I learned that the city of Gallway has had 84 mayor's since the 1400's with the surname Lynch.

My wife's family came from county Clare and Cork(?). They were literally a bunch of potato eating dirt farmers. My family were middle class merchants and bankers.

Of course, my family went on to become drunkards in America and only began to lift themselves out of poverty over the last generation or so. While my wife's family became middle class with lots of law enforcement, FBI, business owners, ect.

Ah the fortunes or misfortunes of immigrating to America! lol

We are big fans of Irish music too(not just the U2 variety either! lol).

I have several non-native friends who rented a house on the Fort Hall Rez for about 4 years while they were going to ISU in Pocatello. They never had any social problems at all, but complained about getting snowed in- apparently the snow plows can be slow to show up on the rez. Some of my friends still keep in touch with their old neighbors.

I have a sister or three that have redscalps. Excuse me for ducking and holding my ears. Why does it seem redheads have Bi Polar problems? lol We are Irish too. Mcmanigles.lol

Anyway I have met Seminole,Osceola tribe members in jail as I was a professional baby sitter in jail and they were the most respectful of the races except for Asians. I enjoyed speaking to them and we had great discussions. They were in jail for dui, disorderly,Drugs. They received obscene amounts in monthly stipends for being part the tribe(Casino related) and were so bored that the only thing they could do to escape the boredom was to drink and do drugs. They felt trapped with all the money in the world, and could not escape their reservations without ridicule of the races and amongst their own tribe.
