Not to be repetitive, but the biggest difference is Idaho winters are usually consistent with seasonal cold and snow. Denver has wild changes during the winter. 70 one day in January and 20 a day later!

Yeah much of Idaho has milder winters than Denver. I like Bonners Ferry due to low wind speeds and mildish temps....the big difference is Denver gets more sun in the winter and is windier than northern Idaho at least.
Interesting. BF avg winter temps are considerably colder than Denver?

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, but Jan avg day time high of 46F seems better than 34F.

I was attempting to combine high and low averages which tend to favor Idaho, but on the other hand, few go out at night during winter in either location.

No matter what the weather in North Idaho, people just go about their business. There is just as much traffic and just as many people in the stores during a snow storm as there are in good weather,
You live where the weather gets difficult, you learn to just keep on living your life. It's goes with living in a cold weather area.

Let me rephrase that. Most don’t go out late at night when it gets really cold. But yes, folks in colder climates do what they need to do regardless of temp.
