Please don't Californicate ID.
I don't think everyone on the right is racist. However, I do think that much of this is being propagated by Trump and endorsed by many members of the right. This isn't the 1950s anymore, as much as many people would like to think it is.

They indicated that with all the CA transplants, that's changing quickly, at least in the Boise area (not sure about CDA). They're saying that its not too different from the Bay Area suburbs, 20-30 years ago. I haven't really explored that area, but its worth looking into.
So the moral of the story is replace Idaho values with California values? I think there are definitely positives that come from many of the transplants because it offers diversity in thought as well as checks and balances. Obviously "Idaho values" is something that continually evolves. And sure the culture will naturally change as the people come and go, but to hope for Californication is a terrible idea. Boise proper probably already is the Bay Area from 30 years ago, but with a lot less people and cleaner streets.

I never said everything about the Bay Area or California is great. I think there's a lot of fiscal mismanagement, a terrible homeless problem, lack of affordable housing, bad traffic/congestion, crime (in certain areas), etc. However, I do think California can teach a lot of the country on embracing diversity, championing social change, etc.

It's only in the elitist's imaginations and sophist's opining on MSM that the rest of us know nothing of "diversity". My neighbors in North Idaho are the most compassionate and open minded people; and they are all Trump supporters.

[mod note] We're wandering too far 'off topic' here, and into a philosophical debate. Best for a different thread. [/mod note]
