Hey everyone,

My fiance and I are visiting Coeur D'Alene for the first time this September. If we love it, we are considering moving there next spring.

I can find a job doing anything, but it's up to him to find the better paying job with benefits!

He is a certified commerical diver / underwater welder, and currently works for a marine company here in NJ.

He is also an experienced angler & hunter and in general, a very knowledgable outdoorsman. He would love to be a guide, but it's very hard to get that type of job without knowing someone.

With all this being said, does anyone have any contacts for commercial diver jobs? welding jobs? guide jobs? or anything outdoors that pays an annual salary of atleast $70k?

If so, please shoot me a message, or email at nicolems917@gmail.com - It would be greatly appreciated!!

I really want to move out of state soon. I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia last year and after many rounds of chemo & a bone marrow transplant, I'm ready to start my second chance at life somewhere new where we will both be happy! I do not like living here anymore, my friends all disapeared, and I'm ready for new beginnings since we do not have any kids or anything holding us back.

Thanks! =)

Probably not the best news for you but I have a friend here in north Idaho who does the same thing your husband does and he travels to the Puget Sound area every week for work and comes home on weekends.
Not the most wonderful situation but his family is from here and they really don't want to move if they don't have to. Not a lot of job opportunities and he is very experienced at his trade.

Thanks misty. I've been hearing mixed things. Some people say there are alot of barges around the area, some say there's not much dive work but there is welding work... so it's hard to figure this out!

My fiance's dream job would be a guide, or something outdoors (as long as it relates to hunting) lol!

Amtrak has a stop in Sandpoint. It apparently arrives late at night and is often not on time (according to those who use it).

More like "wee hours of the morning." From what I hear, not a good option if someone needs a regular schedule.

After my own life and death experience (not exactly yours but very similar) my resolve to live life the way I want to has never been stronger. The only thing stopping us from moving is the money and we are working on that. I had already wakened up to the idea of moving back to the mountains, "what was I waiting for?", but then I became very ill. After I recovered it still took time to do more healing and get to a point to where I could dream again. I dusted off that binder I had created before I became sick, where I had been storing information on destinations, and began researching and planning again. People will think I'm pulling my husband and kids away from them I predict, "why do you want to move away from us?" because they will suspect it is coming from me, rightly so, but my husband and I have talked about it so many times and he is totally on board, and our kids are so excited about moving to Idaho! Once we are to the point of actually announcing it we will have to answer their questions, but I don't think I could adequately express my WHY. Everyone who moves has their own powerful WHY, but I've stared my mortality straight in the eye, as you have, I do not know if everyone can really relate to the power of that unless they've been there.

I hope your finance finds his dream job and you both get to live in your dream destination. All the best!
