Actually, I thought it was too quiet. I find that airplane hum helps enhance the illusion of privacy - like not having to hear the guy next to you snoring!

Though I could be reading this wrong. The way I'm getting is that it's ONLY flying from Houston to Frankfurt and that's it. Not Houston to anywhere else but Frankfurt, Germany at least for now.
Oh man. Germany is awesome. I can't get enough everytime I visit Europe. The next time visit I want an entire month just for Germany

The closest I've been to Germany is the German pavilion at Epcot.

The point of such flight is to move passengers to connecting hub. So you don't need to stay in Germany, it's just convenient way how to get to the center of europe from Houston.

I don't know :-) I used to live in Koln Germany for few years and Aubonne Switzerland as well. I still like Switzerland the best but my wife loves Paris where she used to live and study.

There are far too many best places in this world that's for sure. And is hard to pick one :-)

Aren't the current flights served by Boeing 747s? The article failed to mention outright, but I am assuming this A380 flight is replacing the 747, right? Wonder what this will do for ticket prices. Would be pleasant to fly to Europe & Asia cheaper.

Just get your Deutsche Bahn tickets in advance & you get cheap transpo anywhere in Western Europe from Frankfurt Flughafen Station.

Yes, this plane will replace the 747 that currently serves this route. Frankfurt is their big hub, from there you can connect anywhere via planes or train... I don't recommend staying in Frankfurt as it is just the financial hub, not much to do there... but I love the south... been to Munich many times and always like it there...

I love Switzerland too. It felt very welcoming and it is a really easy country to get around in. The major cities there are all so drastically different in cultures too. I love it. I also like that the central Europe Cities are most often not as touristy as the ones in the UK, Spain, France and Italy.
