We are considering moving to the area nearest to Virginia Beach but far enough away so as not to hear the constant roar of fighter jets training in the area. I recall visiting Virginia beach years ago and the jet noise was deafening. What are some decent sized cities close to Virginia Beach but far enough away so those jets are not a noise issue? Richmond VA? Suffolk? Williamsburg? Newport News area?

The noise map is pretty accurate. I’m in VB, but outside the green noise bands. From the house I can see the planes (super cool!), but it’s not often I hear them, and even then I have to be outside.
