Hello,
We will be moving up to the Hampton Roads area soon and I will have to pick a hospital to transfer all of my OB patient info to but I have no idea how the OB Clinics and Hospitals are up there. We aren't religious and plan on a 2nd birth with medications/epi etc. in the hampton Roads area. If anyone could recommend any OB clinics, where they are located in HR, and where they deliver that would be great! Thanks for reading!

Yeatts and Lockhart has one of the best reputations in Hampton Roads. I've also heard good things about Dr. Lisa Casanova. I, personally, used Womancare of Williamsburg and was very happy with them, but they're going through a lot of personnel changes at the moment, so it would be hard to recommend them. Riverside, Mary Immaculate, and Sentara Williamsburg are the three main hospitals on the peninsula--all have good reputations as far as maternity care.

You might want to join peninsulamommies.com. It's a free on-line forum (and meet-up group) for area mothers. You'll get a wealth of information about hospitals, ob practices, etc. there.

Where in HR? You don't want to drive from VAB to Williamsburg for an appointment.

Oooh, that's a good point, Spazkat. I was still answering her question about Newport News. If you decide to settle in Chesapeake, you definitely don't want a practice on the peninsula. A good resource for southside mothers might be:

hamptonroadsmommies.com

I've never been on there, but it's part of The Mommies Network which is usually pretty active.

Good luck!

We still dont know if we will want to live in the NN area or in Chesapeake. But it sounds like maybe we cant go wrong with either area because they both seem to be safe with good hospitals?
