Congratulations! I moved the Greenville from Raleigh as well. Are you looking to rent or buy? How many cats do you have?

Have two cats. Will most likely rent first as we have a house here we need to sell or get rented out. I start on the 22nd so I guess I better get hopping.

There are a lot of rentals here; some of the apartments have garages if that is something you would consider. Yes, you neeed to get started

A garage is something I would require. (own tools and motorcycles). I will probably head down the week of the 7th to look. I can probably go as high as $1400. Of course the lower the better. I am moving out of a 2800sf 3 bedroom house but don't really need something that big.

You can get a nice rental home in that price range, although probably not 2800 sq ft.

Hi NavySAR1, welcome to Greenville and BMW Shipmate! I also work at BMW and really enjoy it. PM me and I'll tell you where my office is and you can stop by one day.

I'll have a rental available in November, it's a 2300 sf (4BR, 2.5 bath) with a large back yard on a nice quite cul-de-sac in Simpsonville. 2 car garage, plus both neighbors have motorcycles (older guys). Pool in community, etc... It's a little more than your budget, but it's comparable to other rentals. Don't forget that ESA's usually get a lot of overtime, weekends, etc... (Sundays and holidays are double time).

For $1400, if you want to live out towards BMW (E.g. in Greer) you'll be able to get a pretty nice house - probably 4b/2(.5) ba. If you want to live in certain areas of Greenville you'll probably get a slightly smaller house. You can get a 3br/2ba house in Greer (rental) for ~$1000 with a garage.
