Default Ball Ground

I live about 20 minutes north of Ball Ground. I don't know about the schools or taxes, but it's a pretty small town. Do they have a chamber of commerce with a website? I'd imagine taxes are pretty low compared to most other areas. Good luck, sorry I don't have more info.

Default Ball Ground

I would like to know why Ball Ground "sucks" as well.

You can't just make a comment like that and not elaborate!

I can't speak for that person, but Ball Ground really doesn't have any stores and it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. I think there's a post office! That's fine for people who are looking to get away from all that city life. I'd guess that most of the housing is average - nothing fancy from what I remember. I think it has one restaurant (?) and no major retailer. It's about 15 minutes from either town north or south. That's not bad, because everything in N. Georgia is 15 minutes from anything at least.

Default Moving to Ball Ground

We are moving to Ball Ground from FL this Summer, God willing. We purchased a home there in August, on almost 8 acres, something we would never be able to touch in South FL. I think we are on the border of Canton and Ball Ground, and our house is less than 10 minutes away from shopping, restaurants, bank, etc. Our house has the feel of a rural, country setting, in a nice subdivision of estate homes, but yet is close enough so that we are not in the middle of nowhere. I was born and raised in South FL and never thought that I would leave here, much less to another state, but we are so looking forward to moving!

I assume you're looking in the greater Ball Ground area, and not just the town of Ball Ground. If so, remember that Ball Ground encompasses both Cherokee and Forsyth counties. You're going to pay lower taxes on the Forsyth county side.

My wife and I are looking to move into Forsyth or Dawson counties and checked out Ball Ground. The observation we made were that there were more developments and available houses on the Cherokee side. Shopping is not as convenient as say Canton (Cherokee) or Cumming (Forsyth). Even less so on the Forsyth side. It's defnitely rural, and the traffic wasn't bad at all when we were checking out the area. We spent most of our time going up and down hwy 369 (Matt Highway) on the Forsyth side. To get to shopping, you almost have to go to hwy 20 on the Cherokee side or close to 400 on the Forsyth side. We didn't go up to the actual town of Ball Ground, so I can't tell you what's there. Hopefully a local can give us more info - we were in the area only a couple of days. I would love more info.

Nice country town. Traffic not bad unless you go south to Kennesaw or Marietta and Atlanta. Have to do your sshopping in Canton,Ga. , about 10 miles south. Traffic not bad there. Good pllace to live

Default Ball Ground is GREAT

Maybe I'm a little parcel but I have lived in Ball Ground for 45 years. I don't think there is a better place in Ga to live. If anyone plans to move here just contact me I'll be more than happy to tell you where all the best homes are and anything else you would like to know.
