From a similar container company I got a quote for $3000. That's crazy, cause air transportation would be around $1500, with multiple flights. Air just inconvenient.
Even regular truck transportation is around $1900, so those container companies are super greedy.
I will end up probably packing more in my car and shipping the rest with UPS or USPS or FedEx.
That's why U-Haul exists. U do the hauling and save money
OP had a perfect plan and it worked out great eventually.
FedEx Freight gave me the best quote.
Also I needed local UHaul trucks for DIY loading and unloading, but that was under $200.
Overall moving cost under $1000.
And I made several stops along the route in state parks and beach towns.
So this move turned out quite enjoyable rather than stressful.
