I made a bet with my dad that I could grow grapes from seed. (i live in a tropical area). So i was very happy when one of the seeds started sprouting...until the leaves got waaay to big to be grape leaves and one started sprouting thorns.
Can anybody tell me what i'm growing?

It can't be. I touch this plant every day. Besides poison ivy isn't native to where I live.

Yep. Looks like one to me, or common purple thistle. They attack the garden when I don't have my gloves on. I just dig to the root and pull from there.

I saw those pics too, but they are of mature plants, and the op's pics are of immature plants. There is frequently a big differance.

Default growinpainz

...thought i can't say for certain...it is possible that the plant in question might be a seedling of jimson weed...or something in the nightshade family...many weedy species in that family have the thorns on the leaves which you had spoken of...because the plant is still immature and does not seem to have any mature leaves set,..the exact identity is still in question...
..out of curiosity,..what is your location?...that may help others help you find this plant's identity...good luck..
