Hey all,

I'm new to this stuff so I'm seeing how it goes. I recently just graduated from college this spring and have made my home for now in Fort Myers working a full time job (thank god I got one). I have some family here which is nice, but have no friends my age and don't know where good hangouts or places are in this area.

Basically I am looking for people who wouldn't mind showing me around or telling me some good places for hangouts of the 20's aged crowd. Heck, if you wanna hit me up and hangout, I'd probably be down for it.

Waking up, going to work, coming home for some TV, sleep, and then repeating the cycle is not a life I like. I like to have a good time.

Hope to get some good ideas or maybe make some friends! Thanks!

Sorry no one has reached out on here. Unfortunately, you didn't choose a great "younger" crowd kind of place. Tampa area would have been MUCH better for your scene.
However, try downtown Ft Myers. The Edison also has good happy hour type entertainment. Head down to the beach for a younger crowd as well. Unfortunately, the area really caters to tourists, and the elderly. IMO.
I have lots of friends who go to Cin Cin off McGregor, and there is another bar/restaurant next to it that appeared to have a pretty good crowd.
Best of luck to you. We are not 20 something, but 30something, and we moved away.

JRS, unfortunatly just about everything centers around drinking and IMO it can only lead to trouble. What do you like ? Look for groups that center around a hobby or sport that interests you. I quit drinking along time ago and those friends disappeared so I had to find new ones that shared same interests and such. Work is a good place to start, I have made many new friends over the years still after not working with some for many years. I agree the area does not offer much for your age but they are out there just have to Talk it up with people it will happen. Look for forums that share your interests I have found local people on hobby forums that I didn't know were right in my backyard. Good Luck a good friendship takes time.

your gonna need to find an "ice breaker" to get into the young crowd scene.... Join some young clubs, sailing, kayaking??????? knitting? Take a course over at Florida Gulf Coast University. Tons of young kids there, and plenty of bars around there. Millers ale house at Gulfcoast town center, along with plenty of other bars there. But, your gonna need to be really SMOOOOOOTH to just make friends. How about online clubs in Ft Myers?????????

yeah, most of that stuff i have seen...although, downtown is hit or miss it appears. i checked out ale house and firepit, and it was crazy but in a good way. i have met a few people so it is going well. i do enjoy drinking, but not every night or all of the time. i'll def. look into the groups on here and see if any spark my interest to see about getting involved...just need to stay busy. i'm currently working on a promotions gig with Gator country so hopefully that works out.

thanks for all of the posts...any other thoughts or hints are still helpful. thanks!
