you are a teacher, right? Teachers up there make the same as down here. but have less BS to deal with and retirement plans up there are much better, from whatI've heard.

But again, maybe I am accustomed to it somehow. People are friendly in MI, but it is cold most of the year, and most seem to 'hibernate' a bit and a bit reclusive in some ways, etc.

However, the times I've been to the 'South'...I've been overwhelmed by friendliness. It is nice...I don't necessarily require it, but it is nice.

If that is the case, go for it! I loved Asheville...but for me, I'd have to move there blindly...and job prospects look pretty bleak for that. Great little city, particularly if you have a job you like that you could do there - amazing place.

I've never taught K-12 though...no qualifications for it...and no experience either, etc. I come from a family that had a lot of K-12 teachers, and never wanted to do that - just fell into teaching english abroad by being a big foreign country traveler type of person.

Teaching english to non-english speakers is my strength...and pretty much entirely adults, and have only taught abroad - Japan, Korea, and Brazil.

So, I think for me, I'd have to be where a lot of non-english speakers would be at for that kind of work.

For you though, if K-12, I can see where teaching in NC over So FL would be better.

^Eagle^, congrats on your decision! At least now you've compared and experienced a little of both...to feel right about your decision!

I would like to know if anyone has found a good way to go through tolls on a motorcyles with out have to pull out of your pocket. I have just started riding my bike to work and tag is reg with sunpass but so far nothing has worked and I know I will be getting somthing in the mail about it. I did call ther CSR Dept and they told me not to worrie when the get the pic of my tag they will just search for the tag number and take the money from my account.

Has anyone had a problem with this or if they had to pay a fine even though the tag number is on file?
