Hi all,

We went to Hollywood beach years ago, and we both loved it. There were great bars and restaurants within walking distance to our hotel and it was such a nice, safe place. In reading up on a few hotels that we are looking to book for March, the reviews of the Boardwalk area are pretty much the same. Homeless, druggy people all over the area where the fun places are, and sub par hotels(except Margaritaville, which is too expensive ). Any thoughts or comments on whether we should stay around there is greatly appreciated!

I'm afraid what you are reading regarding reviews is indicative lately of a certain faction who has set out to badmouth locations in areas that vote Democratic. It's a pattern seen on varying websites involving usual suspects like NYC, San Francisco and DC but now extends to secondary locations like Asheville NC and here in South Florida. The descriptions conjure up hordes of homeless people everywhere you look when in reality its no different than it was a few years ago.

Here are links to some of the Broadwalk cams on Hollywood Beach. Tune in to them on different days at different times of the day to get a feel for what kinds of people you see there.

Hollywood has always been "iffy" so nothing really has changed.

No...no, it hasn't.

I'm a native of Hollywood, still know it well and for the most part it's never been "iffy".
