Otherwise known as "Tri-Rail Downtown Miami Link" docking at the downtown Brightline complex...does anyone know if this already up and running? according to trirail website, its is coming soon. I am wondering if this will be a faster service than switching to the current metrorail option to get to downtown

AFAIK, it has not started operation yet. It will definitely be faster, as Metrorail makes 10 stops between Tri-Rail Transfer and Government Center, while Tri-Rail will run nonstop between the two

I was hoping it'd be ready soon.

I have to start commuting 2-4 times a months starting this January. This seems cost effective and reasonably fast.

I cannot afford 30-60 even $80 a day using Brightline! even if it is faster!

Brightline is HSR, hence the higher fares! Tri-Rail is a regional system which can be patronized by residents of South FL and is meant to be a much more affordable option than Brightline!

Everybody has been hoping it will be "ready soon" :

“Service was originally expected to begin in 2019"

Tri-Rail train service to MiamiCentral is now expected to begin in Fall 2023.

Who knows when Tri-Rail will get its act together and finally service downtown. The stations are already built for them.

At this point you really don't have any other option than to transfer at the current Tri-Rail / Metrorail transfer station and ride the Metrorail into downtown Miami.

I suggest you budget about an extra 30 minutes into your schedule.

I have been using it so far
It's a bit slow getting in/out of Miami Central, however, it is comfortable, it is affordable. We'll see during the summer months though...

Brightline is gorgeous, clean, comfortable, fast but it way too expensive with tks ranging from $19/$24 t0 $44/$47 each way

I believe this will be a link to maybe as far as Boca or WPB. While this map may not show it, the link is above, and if it doesn't show, there's the full web site displaying the map, which can be scrolled all the way down the bottom.

I took the Tri-Rail from MIA to Cypress Creek a week ago. The price was good although the train ran about 10 minutes late due to some door issue.
