Can I ask for thoughts on the Jacaranda area, specifically near the golf course? Seems to be some inventory turnover there that appears to meet our needs, but uncertain if this is the type of neighborhood we are looking for. Weston does seem wonderful also and again, there appear to be houses there that would ring the bell, but again without actually being there it is difficult to know what the surroundings are like. Wouldn’t be bad to have a backup for schools also in case AH doesn’t end up to be a good fit and from what I can tell Weston schools are great.
Thanks again in advance!
Jacaranda is older, some homes there were built in the 70s and 80s. But it is still quite nice.

Weston - you simply can't go wrong with any of the Weston communities. The whole town is manicured.

Yup, and Weston is the "obvious" choice for a 4/2/pool for $650k, too. Might even want to consider saving the $30k on American Heritage and go to the Weston schools.

I detect sarcasm where no sarcasm is necessary. Did you check the link posted earlier? Here it is again for your perusal. There are nice Weston (Weston Hills even!) homes there in the OP's price range with 4+/2.5+ and a pool.

P.S. Hey, I would recommend Cooper City too, which I know that you have affinity for, but it is a bit too far to schlep the kids from there to American Heritage.

It does not. Not for a budget of $650k, anyway. 4+ bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a private pool in a nice community neighborhood for $650k? In south Florida? Pffffft.
Untrue. In the neighborhood where we own, it can be had. This isn’t LA. Yes, south FL is pricey, but the OP has many options.

Consider the cons, and yes there are cons (despite what realtors have to say), about living so far west.

You detected sarcasm where there was none. I wasn't being sarcastic at all.

I'd love to know what the cons are.

Another family relocating south and seeking advice-2777524b-fcf6-4709-b0dc-3859f71c8b65.jpeg

The fact that you’re near 26 miles (almost an hour, and that’s if traffic is GOOD according to my image above at least) from the beach for one thing. A 52 mile round trip drive just to go to the beach? No Thanks with a capital N and T.

In fact, to get anywhere on the coast you’re looking at a 20-30-40 mile drive at minimum. And that’s if and only if 595 isn’t backed up, because there is always a chance that that the express lanes will be closed [they only go in one direction depending on the time of day] and there’s no alternative to 595 if it is backed up. Heck no I wouldn’t live that far west. People in South Florida spend most of their lives in their cars as it is.
